Family Time in Michigan

Ready for anything with the goggles!
One of the gifts my parents got Landon was a Magic School Bus Volcano science kit. Landon is really into science experiments and volcanoes right now so it was a great gift! On a cold afternoon when we didn't want to go outside, Grandpa broke out the set and did some experiments with Landon and Claire. Landon especially loved the goggles he got to wear, and that the volcano was an actual volcano (we have done the experiment before, but with a plain old bottle- not as cool!)

Nervous and excited- thus the finger sucking!
Success, and Grandma looking on.
This kit has several different experiments, not just plain old vinegar and baking soda so we'll be doing more with this another day. It was a fun afternoon activity, and Landon loved it!

Grandpa and Baby owen

Another favorite activity of the week was Owen snuggling. I basically only held him and took care of him at night, and when he needed to eat. It was a great break for my back and arms. Everyone enjoyed Owen cuddles!

On a cold, windy, but not rainy/snowy Sunday, it was the momentous occasion that everyone was waiting for... family pictures. We have a hard time with these because we all have sleepy eyes and it is really hard to get a good picture of everyone. I loved the background above, but it was quite cold and so after only a few pictures we relocated back inside for the sake of Owen and my mom, who would never survive the winter in the cold, dreary north. I like the picture above, I just wish Landon didn't have his fingers in his mouth. He has drastically reduced the amount of time he spends with his fingers in his mouth, so it is not an accurate reflection of his current way of being! I think he was overwhelmed and overstimulated by being in a house with all my family all week! The indoor picture lighting and background was not as ideal, but it will do for now. We just haven't had an opportunity to get everyone- including spouses- into a picture since Mariah's wedding! Hannah is missing, but we are so proud of what she is doing for the people of Florida!
