10 Month Madness

Landon turned 10 months on Sunday. Here is what we have been up to in his 10th month!
On Memorial Day, we took a mini road trip to Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin to the Jelly Belly Warehouse! We had to wear these cool hats, went on a "tour" around the warehouse where we watched movies about how jelly bellies are made, and then they gave us free jelly bellies! Also, we bought 5 bags of "belly flops," which are the beans that do not meet the company's quality standards and are packaged up and sold for cheap. We JUST finished the last bag, so now we have to go back :)

yay for free samples in the Jelly Belly store!

After the Jelly Belly Warehouse, we went to Kenosha, Wisconsin to see Lake Michigan. Unfortunately, it was FREEZING so the "beach day" was more like an eat-your-lunch-in-the-car day. We got out to take pictures by the lake, and then ended off the day at the Pleasant Prairie factory outlets, where we purchased some new sandals for our boy:)

There were lots of fun pieces of play equipment at  the beach, too bad it was too cold for Landon to appreciate it

Our dear friends came to visit and we got to watch their darling son for part of a day. He and Landon had a great time, and we know that he will make a great big brother!

Later that week we traveled to South Bend, IN so that my sister, Mariah, and I could run a marathon. We finally got to visit Cam and Eric. Their boy shared his superman outfit with Landon. And above, Landon doesn't like to wear bibs, and if he can't get them off he turns them into capes! The marathon went fairly well; it was humid and Mariah and I started out too fast, but we both finished and I was only 15 minutes slower than before I was pregnant, so I'll take it!

In another fun weekend, we went as a family to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert at the outdoor concert venue, Ravinia. We sat on the lawn, from which we could see the pavilion where the concert was, but not the stage. The nice thing about it was that everyone could stay sitting in their lawn chairs because nobody could see anyway. We were also able to walk up to the top of the pavilion to watch them. It was a great concert of hymns, classical music, folk songs, and patriotic songs. I loved the orchestral accompaniment as well.

We celebrated Austin's first Father's Day! He got a bigger charcoal grill and has loved grilling out more often. I made homemade Kneader's french toast with caramel syrup and whipped cream for breakfast. Austin approved.

Landon loves his baths, especially when Austin throws bubbles in. In other news, Landon is super buff!
Landon has turned into quite the trouble maker- here

In other news, Landon is an active kid! He crawls around like crazy, goes up the stairs super fast, and is learning to go down the stairs backwards. He can pull himself up to stand really easily now and is getting FAST at cruising around furniture. He can stand independently and has taken a step or two unsupported on occasion, but nothing I would call "walking".
It was a struggle getting a 10 month pic.
Landon loves to open cabinets and pull everything out. We locked all the important cabinets in our kitchen and bathroom and allow him to open up the cabinets with bowls and other kitchen utensils. His favorite kitchen toys are the rolling pin and the stacking bowls. He also likes getting the broom out. He recently learned how to take off the vent covers, and managed to send one down the vent. Austin is having a hard time finding a way to get it back out. Landon also likes to turn off the power strip that controls the desktop PC, and knock over lamps. Landon still loves paper and unplugging things. He is always busy, busy, busy!

Landon loves to destroy his month sign
Landon loves the water, especially this baby-size stream at the splash pad!
Landon still loves string cheese, beans, bacon, bananas, and grapes. He just started a 2nd round of mega-teething, he has 2 coming in on bottom and 4 coming in on top! Makes for one grumpy kiddo! He loves to babble, but has not said any definite words yet. Although the other night, when I said "no" to him pulling out the tub drain, he most definitely said "yes" back to me :). Landon also waves and claps much more now. He also raises his hand high above his head and points his finger when greeting people. It is a crack up.

Well that's all that's going on in our house right now. We look forward to visiting with family in July and August!
