The front of the old train station/museum! Landon was so excited for the model train! After taking a tram and two trains, I walked the few kilometers from Utrecht central station to the railroad museum. Landon was so excited to be there that he looked at the ticket counter and surrounding area and ran straight to the end to look at this solitary model. Little did he know what lay ahead. The first building of the museum is the old train station. They had rooms decorated and set up for 1st class, 2nd class, and 3rd class. The 1st class room looked like a fancy formal sitting room! Left luggage from many generations Seeing the artistry of the train station and the nicely decorated sitting rooms made me realize how classy and nice travel used to be. Front of Museum About 20 miles north of Sulphur is the darling little town of DeQuincy. As we came nearer the end of our time here, I knew that I had to take Landon to check out the museum, with or without Austin. So, we set off on a rainy morning to check it out! The museum is housed in the old rail station and  depot. Passenger and freight trains came through here, and there are tracks on both sides of the station that are still in use!  Inside, there was tons of train memorabilia including this cool office set-up that replicates what the train office looked like when the station was still in use. My favorite pieces were the old type writers, calculators, and Morse code device.  Office One of the most interesting papers I saw in the museum was this train order for the day after Pearl Harbor- ordering train operators to not allow Japanese people to travel on trains in light of the invasion. Landon and I made the day trip over to see our dear friends Cambria, Eric, Will, and Finn in South Bend, IN. Landon is right in between the boys in age and they had so much fun together! Landon and Will spent the entire time spinning each other up into super crazy toddler hyperness. We had to physically restrain them and sit them down to calm down and watch a show together... that's how much fun they were having. It was great to catch up with great friends and hang out in a home for the day. Thanks, Grahams! The boys playing in bed  The boys eating a snack One day when I was cleaning up the kitchen in our room, Landon came to me looking like this. He wanted to find a ball to play baseball with. He found a tennis ball and wanted to play baseball. He had a beanie on his head for his hat, one glove on his hand for his baseball glove, and a ladle for his bat. He tried hitting the ball with the ladle unsuccessfully for quite awhile. I found it extremely cute. ...

Grandma and Landon before with the trains! Until you have spent a significant amount of time living in hotels, I think it is hard to appreciate all the of amazing things that come with a house. There is a definite warmth from being in a familiar place with familiar people that you love, and that you know love you. Anyway, that's my nugget for the day. Landon's hair is very thin and blond. It gets fuzzy on the back of his head from naps and bed time when his hair gets too long. Before India, I took a pair of clippers to his head and the results were acceptable, but not ideal. So, I decided to take him to a legit children's hair cutting place so that he could have a good haircut for his birthday and the wedding.
