Wandering Browns

I used to be a very picky eater. Austin has helped me to get over many of my aversions to yogurt and peppers and tomatoes. Korean food has given me many opportunities to try new things. We live in a hotel so we go out to eat at least one meal a day, so we have had everything from McDonald's and Jamba Juice to traditional meals. Some of our spread At our hotel, they offered babysitting at the same rate as we normally pay babysitters, so we took advantage of the opportunity and had a date night! The babysitter also worked downstairs at the pool, so she was super excited when she saw Landon again the next day. I think Landon had fun and she did too. I know Austin and I certainly did. One specific type of Korean restaurant that Austin and I really enjoy is a restaurant where you order raw meat and you have a fire at your table and you cook the meats yourself. Along with the meat, they bring out several different types of kimchi, salads, seafood, lettuce leaves, sesame oil and salt for dipping and other interesting tidbits. I'm sure Koreans think it is hilarious when we have no clue what to do, but I have to say we are getting the hang of it the more we go to these types of places. Somehow we didn't end up with a pic of the bridge itself... but we were there during the day On the same day as the waterfalls, we took some time to wander around the little city on the southern part of Jeju Island and crossed a big bridge over to a small island right in the harbor. There were interesting things to see, and less tourists because, well, we weren't necessarily at places of interest to tour buses full of Chinese tourists. First we crossed over the bridge. Landon loved pointing out all of the boats. There were submarine tours leaving from here, but we just didn't have the heart to look how much they would cost. Maybe when Landon is a little older and would geek out about it as much as we would... In India, I found myself saying, "Come on, India, it's 2014, get with the picture!" In Seoul, I find myself saying, "Come on, US, it's 2014, get with it!" It is lovely, clean, safe (except for their pesky neighbors to the north), and very technologically advanced. Our touch screen phone in our hotel controls all of the lights, the thermostat, and can tell the hotel to not disturb us. It also gives information about the hotel and surrounding areas. The lights for the bathroom are a touch panel as well, as are the buttons that indicate whether we would like our room cleaned or do not disturb. These buttons illuminate lights on the outside of the door so the maids can see when rooms need to be cleaned. Not that they actually have to walk down the hall to see, because they have a computer in their room that has a map of all the rooms that are occupied and which ones are ready to be cleaned and which ones are do not disturb. The elevators are slow but also cool....
