7-Month-Old in Korea!

Thrilled to be moving
All of a sudden, it seems like Owen's babyhood is going by WAY too fast. Where is my little infant that was content to just be in my arms? He has been replaced with a baby on the move! Owen continues to slim down in his cheeks as he expends all of his calories rolling around on the floor. His hair is growing in and looking less sparse and more light brown. Recently, Owen started army crawling! What's so funny is that he's a pro at it now. When we arrived in Korea, he barely scooted himself forward a few inches, and a week later, he's moving all over our living room and getting stuck on chair and table legs! Nothing is safe from Owen, as Landon is finding out. I call it revenge for all the months of abuse Owen has endured. He loves to play a game with Landon where he pulls Landon's hair, and Landon squeals and laughs, and then Owen laughs. Landon has also learned how to play peek-a-boo, and so they both enjoy doing that together. Gross motor wise, Owen is transitioning onto his tummy more smoothly from sitting, and reaches really well in sitting and on his tummy. He can push up really high on his arms on his tummy and if I put him on his hands and knees, he'll rock a little before collapsing onto his tummy.
Owen is also babbling a lot more, although "Mama" is still his only intelligible word. He still loves most food that I offer him, including Korean sweet potatoes that were yellow and some meat puree this month! Although he's been drooling and chomping on things for months, his teeth have not popped through yet, but he likes to gum crackers into a paste and rice crisps until they dissolve. His favorite is to find a wooden puzzle piece or magnet of Landon's and chew on that! Baby carrots helped soothe his gums this month when we were moving out of our house- they were the perfect size for him to hold and chew on without being too small to choke on. We've given him little pieces of a variety of table foods and he loves everything. Feeding him purees has gotten interesting lately as he likes to bat the spoon away from his mouth. Food flies everywhere! It makes a big mess.

I love that sparkle in his eye!

Owen is still our happy boy. He gets fussy when he's hungry or tired, but other than that he is just all smiles. He especially loves catching the eye of people when we're out and about, then he flashes his big smile. Both Landon and Owen are immensely popular here in Korea, although the Koreans just point and say "CUTE!" instead of mobbing us. Owen was a champ on his first international flights. We flew Chicago to Tokyo and he slept a good portion of the flight, albeit fitfully so Austin had to hold him for a few hours as he slept. He did NOT like trying to eat his solids sitting in my lap, so he did not eat nearly as much as he normally does, but I tried to compensate by nursing him a bunch. He slept the whole flight from Tokyo to Seoul, and a little over a week after our arrival, we're back on his normal sleeping schedule! This month, he woke up every three hours or so, but I think his teeth were bugging him, he had a canker sore and he had a cold for half the month, so these things combined were making him wake up more often. Since we settled into a routine here in Korea, he sleeps in 4-6 hour stretches, which is much better. We're still waiting on the sleeping through the night, but I think we're getting closer!

Owen adores his big brother, and I think most of the reason he started moving was to start playing with Landon's toys and interact with him more. In the picture below, Landon is off camera making Owen laugh. Look at that pure love in his eyes! We love you, Owen!
