The boy himself, post nose scrape |
We flew to Colorado for Thanksgiving... several days early. It snowed before we got there, but then it melted. Then it was 50 degrees. And then I rejoiced. Landon had a wonderful time wandering around my inlaws' backyard and picking up rocks and sticks and being a boy!

Landon thought it was hilarious that Great-Grandpa Lish was squirting him with water on the hand. |
We walked to a nearby park and Landon had fun playing on the play equipment, running up and down grassy hills, and sliding down big kid slides. Right before we left, though, he was running on the sidewalk, caught his toe, and went down. Flat on his little face. He had a big goose egg on his forehead and little scratches on his nose for the rest of the vacation.
Which was perfect timing for taking pictures at Red Rocks above Denver! It was a beautiful day and a beautiful setting, and we got some great shots on our new camera. We got Christmas card pictures for our little family, as well as the whole Brown family.

Landon in action |
In general, Landon loves books and reading right now. He is in a phase where he will ask me to read the same book 4-5 times in a row. His favorites include...
Blue Hat, Green Hat,
Big Red Barn, and
Hand, Hand, Fingers Thumb. He is saying more words: NO!, eye, moo, vroom, cat, dad, mom, ball, and done. He signs more when he's eating, which is excellent because I hated guessing about when he was full!

Loving the warmer weather, and playing outside! |
He had his 15 month appointment this past week. Landon got 4 shots and a Tb test in order to get ready because we are starting the traveling part of our job maybe before his 18 month appointment. He is 26 lbs, 8 oz and 33.5 inches long. Even though he is not as big as his daddy, he is 95th percentile in everything. He loves playing with balls and and starting to get interested in cars. He just started giving hugs and kisses and folding his arms for prayers. He makes my heart so happy!

Looking forward to his next adventure |

Checking out a butterfly that landed at our feet! |
Landon had fun with Grandma at the Children's museum in Denver, and at the Butterfly Pavilion. I love the Butterfly Pavilion; it is an invertebrate zoo! They have all kinds of insects including a tarantula that you can hold if you are over 3, and a tank of sea creatures including sea stars and horseshoe crabs that you can touch. Landon had a blast touching the sea stars and playing in the water, we had to tear him away to take him to the butterfly room. They have tropical plants and butterflies flying all over. We stayed for a program where they release the butterflies that are ready to fly after hatching out of their cocoons. It was sad when they opened the cage and none of the butterflies flew out right away, but it was still fun to see them take their first flights. There was an indoor play area at the pavilion with a rope bridge. Landon loved challenging himself on this little bridge. There were much bigger kids climbing on it around him, but he did just fine!
