Taking this month's picture was a little harder than before, because Landon did not leave the sign alone! He rolled over on it, wanted to chew it (see bite marks in above left picture). Fortunately, I'm stubborn enough to try, try again until I got an ok shot

This happened seconds after the pic above. |

Austin continues to watch Landon on Saturdays while I work. Landon likes the carrier and Austin finds it much more manly than the Moby. They enjoy watching football together.

As Austin put it, Landon has become "alot more fun" in the last month. His hands are constantly busy as he explores his world with his mouth and his hands. He rolls back to front really, really well and ends up on his tummy almost every night. When he first started to roll, he didn't want to show me, so I went almost a whole week knowing he could roll without actually seeing it. We are currently working on rolling front to back, because sometimes he gets stuck on his tummy, gets really angry, and screams. It's fun. Landon can also sit up fairly well on his own now. He can't get into a sitting position independently, but if I put him there he can hold it for several minutes before toppling over. Not bad for a really big kid! I am on a mission to make sure he is not uncoordinated :) Speaking of big, Landon continues to grow and grow. We don't have official stats this month, but he is getting too long in the torso for 9 month onesies and the 9 month pants actually fit him. His feet are more like size 12-18 months, though. I bought him 6-12 month socks when I was shopping without him and... they are way too small.

Landon loves his new piano and tie-dye shirts he got for Christmas! |

Another fun thing that happened this month is that Landon had his first semi-solid foods! So far we have tried oatmeal, barley, and green peas. He likes all of them. If you know Austin, that isn't really a surprise. They will eat almost anything. A not-so-fun thing that happened was that Landon got 2 teeth! He had been sleeping well through the night, but now he gets up at least once for a brief feeding/crying. Even though both teeth are popped through now he continues to drool and want to chew on things, but I have not found evidence of more teeth coming yet. I'll keep you updated. Austin and I noticed recently that Landon might have more hair now. It is not enough to see in pictures, though. We are pretty sure he won't be bald forever, though, which is good.

His little teeth! |

Landon likes to grab the spoon and try to feed himself (busy hands!), and what usually happens is cereal goes ALL OVER his little face, which is hard to see in this picture. |
Austin's cousin, Marybeth and her boyfriend came to visit and watch the Chicago Bulls play in downtown. We accompanied them to the Willis (formerly Sears) tower to ascend the tallest building in the western hemisphere. It was kind of cool. The most surprising thing was that we went up 1400 ft in elevation in about 60 seconds. This meant my ears popped several times. The first time my ears popped, I panicked because Landon was not chewing/sucking on anything to equalize his ears. We made sure he had something to suck on after that first pop and he did just fine.

103 floors down... there is the street. Look how well he's sitting up! |
|
Yay for family! |
|
In order to appreciate how high we were, there were glass boxes that hung out over the street below. Landon didn't mind. |

It is pretty high! |

Landon on the bridge. Nice and cozy. |

We had never ventured into this part of downtown before, so we decided to walk a block out of the way to cross the Chicago river a few times. |
